1. Ash'ar (Verses) by Faiz Ahmed Faiz
This beautiful poem by Faiz Ahmed Faiz memorbly paints a picture in your mind of a moment of comfort in a barren place. A loved one’s memory appears to the poet in such a way, as if spring suddenly appears in a desolate place, or as if a breeze blows in the desert, or a sick person for no reason suddenly finds peace.

2. Tanhai (Loneliness) by Faiz Ahmed Faiz
In a few short verses, Faiz poignantly conveys the emotion of loneliness to the reader. At the end of the poem, the reader feels a deep sympathy for the poet. Loneliness has come to him like a long lost friend, and together they drink and wait for the moon to rise so that a lost loved one’s memories shimmer over the shadows of dusk and ease his pain
